Sclerotherapy for spider veins
Sclerotherapy is a treatment for spider veins. The procedure involves injecting a saline solution directly into the unsightly vein. The solution irritates the walls of the vein and causes it to collapse upon itself and scar.
Eventually the collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and fades. Often results are seen within a few weeks, but it may take a month or more to see full results from the procedure.
